Hello everyone! I trust that as you read this blog that you are trusting the Lord for your protection and blessing. Many times, it seems easier for the believer to trust in the world, than in God. We trust our bank account, we trust in our paycheck, we trust in the government and quite often we trust ourselves. We think that if we have planned something out that it will work that way.

What I have found in life is that my plans all to often go the way of the dodo bird. They just do not work out, only the plans that I have to follow Gods leading in my life work out. Not easy all the time for sure, sometimes we find it is extremely hard to follow God, we want something in writing from God to us. Maybe to come in the mail, signed by God.

But God has given us His Word to follow, trust in what He says to us, be faithful. In the Book of Hebrews chapter 11 and verse 1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Interesting things, that we cannot see faith as such. We must trust that what God says, He will do. 2 Corinthians 5:17; “For we walk by faith not by sight.” Now not everything that comes our way will seem to be good at the time, I know that for sure. This virus that we are all dealing with, seems at face value to be a bad thing, but when it is past, and it will pass, we will see what the future holds. In Romans 8:28 the Scripture says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love the God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” What we can take away from that is that we need to ride whatever out, then evaluate how it impacted us. What may seem to be negative may work out to be good.

The second time that they found that I had cancer was because of my having appendicitis. Now let me tell you I was having a great amount of pain, Trish drove me from Pahrump to Veterans Hospital in Las Vegas, every turn was sheer pain. Got into the ER, they took a look and I was on my way to surgery. Now I just saw that as a pain that I surely did not need. After a short time, the doctor let me know that they found cancer at the entry to the appendix and that I would need another surgery. Had I not had the pain, the 60-minute drive, the surgery, it surely would have spread, and I may not even be in this life now. Let God work out the things in your life, trust Him to do what’s best for you. No matter how young or old, it is the prefect time in your life to learn to trust God through all things.

Trish and I are still excited to be here, it is Gods will for us. When we are finally able to get back to church in our building it will be great! God is going to do great thing with and through Castledowns Baptist Church! Pray with us and for us, that God will guide and that we will follow!
