December 29, 2020

Hello everyone! Well we are at the end of 2020! I know that it has been a trying year for all of us. One like I have never seen in my lifetime. Many of you have suffered loss during this year, I am sorry for that. Many have lost jobs, homes, health and relationships. It has been tough.

But I want you to know that there is hope in Jesus Christ! Jesus tells us in John 16:33 “These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” These are words of hope for the believer. Jesus promises you peace if you trust in Him. He will get us through, don’t give up. Also in 1 Corinthians 15:57 it says that, “Thanks be to God who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” So, please do not give up! I am praying that 2021 will be a better year for us all.

It has been tough on Trish and I, moving to a new place of ministry just in time for the lock down. Trying to get to know people who you cannot see for basically the first few months, then many still have not been able to attend services. It has been tough trying to figure out a ministry and get it moving forward during this time. So many opinions of how we need to do it, a few speed bumps have occurred during this time, but God is able.

One of my favorite verses during this time has been “And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (KJV)

I am reminded of the words to an old hymn, “My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus blood and righteousness.

I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus name.

On Christ the solid rock I stand, All other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness hides his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace

In every high and stormy gale, My anchor hold within the veil.

His oath, his covenant, his blood. Supports me in this ‘whelming flood

When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.

On Christ the solid rock I stand, All other ground is sinking sand.”

Keep your eyes focused on Jesus, He will get you through this and into a much better year. Or He will walk with you through the deep waters.

Keep the faith!
