July 7, 2020

Hello everyone! How was your holiday? Both here (July 1st) and in the United States (July 4th). It is a slow time for churches all over as we are doing our best to get back into the swing of things. When the government shut us down for a couple of months it makes it hard to get back rolling again. But, good news Jesus is still on the Throne!

We had several first-time guests a week ago and many of them came back this past Sunday. A lot of our regulars have been out for various reasons, health, camping, or just stuff. I guess that we will be able to get on track in the Fall.

I will be leading the church board/council in a study of the book “Autopsy of a Deceased Church (12 ways to keep yours alive)” over the next several months. I will be giving the book out this next meeting on July 14th. The church just doesn’t grow all by itself, you have to work at being the church, by outreach, growth, loving new people as well as the long-time members. Being a church that is excited about Jesus and sharing the Good News!

Many have their own ideas about this, but it’s what I have been doing (church growth) for the past 38 years and I have learned a lot in that time. So together we will adapt and grow, both spiritually and numerically. Many lost souls here in the Northside of Edmonton. God has us here to be His ambassadors and a light house to a lost and dying world. To share with them the good news of grace, mercy, love and salvation!

So, pray with me that God will use us in a great way that we may see and be a small part of what He is doing in Edmonton! The last words of Jesus to His followers was to evangelize the world! (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15) Lets just do it!

More next time…
