June 17, 2020

Hello everyone! I pray that your week is going well. We are starting to get out of this lockdown and back to doing things that need done. This Sunday, Father’s Day, we are hoping to see many of you back in worship. I am excited to get to see many of you again and some for the first time! I will do my best to make it worth your while to come worship with us.

Now shifting gears a bit, I am amazed at the move in Baptist circles into what I consider false teaching. The old Bible standard seems to no longer apply. Men are no longer comfortable with being called fundamentalists; in some cases they do not want to be called conservative. I just do not get it. R. A. Torreys book “The Fundamentals” is still a full of sound doctrine. Printed in 12 volumes back in the early 1900’s, he sought to set forth the fundamentals of the Christian faith. A four volume set was issued by BIOLA, Bible Institute of Los Angeles. Many, if not most, preachers have departed from the faith once delivered, let alone “earnestly contending” Jude 3.

Every mish mosh of theology has been accepted into Baptist churches. There is the attitude of growth at any cost and unfortunately that cost is sound doctrine. I will endeavor to always preach and teach sound doctrine, to not compromise in a futile attempt to please people. You can never please everyone, so just please God and stay true to His Word.

Some Scriptures for you to read; Galatians 1:10; 2 Timothy 2:4; Romans 16:17; Ephesians 4:14; 1 Timothy 1:3; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Timothy 4:2-4; Titus 2:1.

Psalms 119:89; Hebrews 13:8.

The church should NEVER allow the world to set the standard, Gods Word does that. To lower the standard to please the world and the politically correct is to displease God! His Word is settled in heaven and it does not change!

More next time…
